The Novato Flag Football League (NFFL) is a youth sports organization committed to offering a positive, skill-building experience through the game of flag football. Focused on fun, fitness, competition, and teamwork, the league provides a safe and inclusive environment for young athletes to develop their passion for the sport.

ELIGIBILITY
Our inaugural season is open to ALL 7th and 8th graders. Participation is not limited to Novato residents—all eligible athletes are welcome and encouraged to participate. Our goal is to offer SEPARATE BOYS' & GIRLS DIVISIONS and the final division makeup will be based on registration numbers.

TEAMS & DRAFT
Unlike other flag football leagues, NFFL teams will be formed through a player evaluation and draft process. This ensures balanced and competitive teams within each division, promoting a fun, fair, and competitive playing experience for all.

COACHES
Coaches will consist exclusively of high school students. This is not a parent-coached program. Student coaches will receive compensation or service hours for their participation. CLICK HERE for coaching and officiating opportunities.

PLAYER EQUIPMENT
-Each player will receive a reversible game jersey.
-Players must wear sneakers or athletic cleats (metal cleats are not allowed).
-Mouthguards are permitted.
-Optional gear includes gloves, elbow/knee pads, and soft helmets.
-Standard tackle football helmets are NOT allowed.
-All jewelry must be removed before participation.

BASIC GAME RULES
-Games are played using the full width of the high school field from the 40 yard line in
-6 players on Offense, 7 players on Defense
-Games are refereed on the field by league provided officials
